For breakfast enthusiasts, Comede Et Explora highlights the remarkable Peanut Butter French Toast—a heavenly treat coated with a crispy cinnamon sugar exterior, complemented by a rich sauce. This dish, along with the loco moco, showcases the cafe's dedication to hearty portions and incredible flavors, making it a perfect spot for sharing among friends and family.
As Ted G noted, the lively atmosphere even extends to dinner, where guests can enjoy vibrant food and fun drinks, though the layout opens to the hotel lobby, giving it a unique '70s charm. “ Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is such a lovely spot—relaxed, welcoming, and full of tropical charm. It’s the perfect escape from the parks while still soaking in that Disney magic. I absolutely loved the Turkey Banh Mi—fresh, flavorful, and such a unique twist that totally hit the spot. The combination of savory turkey, crisp veggies, and bold seasoning was perfectly balanced and left me wanting more. The service was friendly, and the setting is bright and peaceful, with just the right touch of island atmosphere. It’s a great place to unwind and enjoy a truly satisfying meal. Highly recommend Kona Cafe for anyone looking to try something a little different while still enjoying the quality and care Disney dining is known for. A wonderful dining experience all around! ”
“ We were drawn to Kona Cafe for a desire to get sushi but it also has so much more, highly recommend! I had the Quinoa Mahi dinner which was very good. Our server Mary was a saint. We made many requests of her, which she completed with a smile and genuinely did not seem put out at all. The atmosphere is relaxing and our group of 5 was at a table with plenty of room. This is an easy stop on the monorail from the Magic Kingdom so escape for an awesome dinner before the fireworks! ”
“ We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at the Kona Cafe! Peanut butter French toast was pheonomenal with a crispy crunchy cinnamon sugar outside and a delectable sauce. Additional we enjoyed the loco loco that came with creamy eggs and a delicious gravy. Ambience is cute and an open airy restaurant. Vibes of the Polynesian hotel lobby can't be beat! Serving sizes are large so most entrees can be split. ”
“ Went for dinner the night before I was leaving on a cruise. Food was amazing and service was excellent. The only ding I have against this place is that it is right in the lobby of the hotel with a completely open wall facing the lobby, other than that it has kind of a 70's vibe going on that somehow does not at all look or feel dated. Food and drinks were all great and a lot of fun. My kid did not like the presentation on the bao buns, she was expecting a closed bun. I would go back again. ”
“ The sushi, danish & coffee were all very good. We also ordered the iced decaf with Bailey's, but I didn't taste the Bailey's much if any. It was 15.50 so I was expecting more flavor. I wouldn't spend the money for that drink again but everything was worth it & the staff were very friendly & accommodating! ”
“ First visit and it was very good, will be visiting again. I happen to be there on my birthday and Bianca made my birthday extra special by singing happy birthday at the exact minute I was born. Our server, Liam was pretty good too. I recommend the Kona Cafe because the food is good the portions are normal to large and the food is high quality and very good. ”
“ It's not my favorite place on property, but that's just personal preference. Kona is a great resource if you can't land a Disney meal reservation at your top spots. The food is great, the service is great, and the atmosphere is nice (youre in the Poly, which is awesome.) Truly, everything is great, its just missing the "Wow/Disney" factor in my opinion. The sauces were all phenomenal. They have amazing sushi, creative drinks, and more.. located inside the Polynesian right off the monorail! When you walk in the resort, Kona will be upstairs on the left. You can usually have better luck with reservations here than most places. They also have some clever desserts, espressos and etc.. you'll most likely need a reservation to park here. The attendants/security can be super strict. You'll probably enjoy your meal a lot, but it most likely won't become your favorite Disney dining experience. ”
“ This was our 1st visit to Kona Cafe. We are avid pin traders so we always like to make a reservation for lunch or dinner in one of the resorts. Jose was our waiter. He was very nice and attentive. He was able to accommodate my request with no issue. The kids meals come with plenty of food and the adult meals are large as well. I would say this is more of the more affordable places as the bill for a family of 4 with tip was about 86. I got the Turkey Bah Mei and Hub got the Kona Burger. Both items were tasty, fresh and super filling. We loved the cucumber ribbons & meat that was on the burger and the Bah Mei tasted like heaven. I actually could not finish and took 1/2 home because it was so large! Kids had the tenders and burger. Both were piled high with fries! Kids loved their meals. The highlight of the meal though, to be very honest, was the Pineapple Bread Rolls they give you in the beginning of the meal. They are fluffy, semi sweet and just delish. I must have and TAKE Home for later!! I have no negative comments about this meal as we would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to it! ”
